Founder, Midwest Center for Transformational Change
Anne Lindyberg (pronouns her/they/them) is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, US, living and practicing on the land of indigenous tribes Dakota Sioux, Illini (Illinois), Ioway (Iowa), Missouria and Otoe, and current Sac and Fox tribe (Miskwaki), Iowa.
Anne’s original training is in School Psychology, and she is a permanently certified school psychologist in New York State. She completed STST Level 1 in 2016, shortly after moving from New York to make her home in Iowa, and Level 2 in 2018 and values maintaining regular supervisory support in STST. While she considers her practice a “Satir House,” she is a qualified EMDR practitioner, and has been substantially influenced by the work of Donny Epstein (founder of Network Spinal Analysis or “network chiropractic”).
Coming to her professional life relatively late—finishing graduate school at the age of 39—Anne has had a lot of time to look back and consider her life’s path and purpose. In 2017 she received the insight that her life has been a journey back to connection with Self. Far from being “selfish,” it seemed that valuing and forging a deepening connection with Self is like learning to play an instrument. The body is the instrument through which we express our life energy. When we are most Self-connected, we make the most beautiful music for all to enjoy, and harmonize with others. Enhancing her own Self-connection, and supporting others in their Self-connection, are her priorities and at the core of all that she does.
Anne has two grown children of whom she is very proud living at large in the world. She makes her home with her rescue-dog, Lila, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.
