The SIP Board of Directors is chosen to manage the Satir Institute of the Pacific, an incorporated non-profit Society in British Columbia, and a registered Charity with Revenue Canada. The Board has up to 9 elected directors. If not holding an elected position the following are also ex-officio members of the Board: Past President for a one year term; Director of Training, appointed by the Board; Director of Membership Services, appointed by the Board; Director of Marketing, appointed by the Board. The Board of Directors may number up to 13 directors in total. Directors are elected for three years, with a staggered system of term completion.
General Election is held at the AGM in February or March. The directors may at times appoint a member as a director to fill a vacancy in the directors between annual general meetings.

Lysandra Chan currently resides in Vancouver B.C., on the traditional, unceded and occupied territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. Lysandra graduated with a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Adler University, Vancouver Campus, in 2017, and is currently a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Lysandra works as a Program Coordinator for Seniors program at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House and is a contract Trauma Counsellor for the Empower Program for Kiwassa Neighbourhood House. She first learned about Satir Therapy when she started her grad school back in 2014 and has pursued her Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy Level 1 in 2015 through the Satir Institute of the Pacific. Lysandra was inspired and felt truly connected with the principles of this therapy. She continued to connect with the Satir Institute of the Pacific to engage with people around the world and to attend workshops and conferences related to Satir. Lysandra learned about the formation of the Anti-Racism Committee for VSGN back in 2020 and was excited to be part of the committee to work with like-minded people to make a difference. In March 2022, Lysandra has become a Board member for the Satir Institute of the Pacific. In her spare time, Lysandra likes to connect to nature through hikes and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Frankie Lee, MBA originally came from Hong Kong where after his high school in he was hired as a sales trainee by Burroughs Wellcome Company, a British based multinational pharmaceutical corporation. During his 22 years of service there he was promoted to Division Manager and Commercial Manager overseeing sales and marketing of medical products in Hong Kong, Macau and China. In 1992 he and his family immigrated to Vancouver. From 1993 Frankie worked with AstraZeneca Canada Inc. as sales representative, then senior sales representative and executive sales representative until he retired in 2016.
While still in Hong Kong, Frankie received his Diploma in Business Study from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and his Masters Degree of Business Administration in East Asia University, Macau. In early 1992 Frankie first attended the Satir Personal Growth Program facilitated by John Banmen, Maria Gomori and Jane Gerber in Hong Kong. After immigrating to Vancouver he was admitted by Vancouver School Board to achieve his 2-year Diploma in Counselling. Later he joined Satir Institute of the Pacific where he finished Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy Level 1 and 2 with John Banmen and Kathlyne Maki-Banmen. Frankie also enrolled and was certified in the Enneagram Teacher Program (the study of 9 personality types) led by Helen Palmer and David Daniels of Narrative Enneagram Institute, USA. The latest Satir Training program Frankie participated in was the Training for Trainers in 2019 facilitated by Jennifer Nagel and Linda Lucas.
Frankie was one of the founding members of the Chinese Canadian Marriage Encounter Association and was president for 6 years. Currently Frankie is an active senior volunteer and coach of SUCCESS Chinese Helpline. Frankie mainly practices the Satir learning in personal growth, in enriching family relationships, in church couple groups and at the workplace.
Maureen has worked in the field of counselling for over 15 years as both a counsellor and clinical supervisor/manager. She brings experience from counselling combined with several years of work in the fields of communications and public education to her role as a SIP board member. She participated on program outcomes and health and safety committees while working full time in the roles of program manager, and clinical manager/supervisor of family programs at Hollyburn Family Services in North Vancouver from 2015 to 2022. She received the agency’s Peak Performance award in 2018 for excellence in leadership. Maureen now runs a private practice drawing from her trainings (Levels I and II) with SIP and experience with family services agencies, youth counselling, bereavement counselling and volunteer service in hospice and palliative care environments. She has earned her Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential from BC Association of Clinical Counsellors in 2023 and continues to offer supervision through her private practice. She has developed programs for training and recruitment of counselling and support staff, coordinated program outcomes research, and written annual reports. She has supported successful program audits as the supervisor of a CARF accredited family program, and has overseen integrative case management teams working with a wide array of professionals from social work, nursing, psychiatry and addictions and mental health. Her graduate thesis, focused on promoting family resilience, was published as scholarly book by VDM Verlag in 2009, and she has published essays and other articles in the Globe and Mail, the North Shore News, and many trade publications. She is a clinical member of SIP, as well as a member of the Virginia Satir Global Network and the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. Originally from Alberta, Maureen now lives on Vancouver Island with her husband and dog. She enjoys visits with her two adult daughters and step son and loves spending her free time kayaking, hiking, biking, reading, drawing, painting and playing piano.
Tricia Antoniuk has been a counsellor for more than 20 years and has worked in a variety of settings: with people with disabilities, women who experienced trauma and abuse, people in the queer / LGBTQ2S community, youth, adults, the elderly, people struggling with health issues, and people with mental health struggles. She loves using Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy because it is intuitive, creative and life giving. Tricia has a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers. She has a private practice in Fort Langley and is a Clinical Member of the Satir Institute of the Pacific. Tricia is happy to be on the Board of Directors of the Satir Institute of the Pacific. The SIP community is a place of connection and support, and Tricia’s hope is to help spread the word so we can share this gift with others.
Lani Kyonglan Kim is originally from South Korea where she completed her master of Social Work in Family Therapy and a Master in Law. After obtaining her degrees, she worked as a Domestic Violence Coordinator counselling domestic violence in families, then as a family counsellor working with families, couples, and children. She specializes in performing the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory, Stress Profile, and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 Assessment (MMPA2). She has been a clinical member of Satir Institute of the Pacific since 2016 and a Satir Transformational Systemic Therapist for the Korea Satir Institute from 2010. She is also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, Psychology Association of Saskatchewan, and Canadian Psychological Association. Her main goal is to bring out positive potentials of her patients and guide them with her idealistic nature.
Linda Lucas, MA, LCPC, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, LPC, has extensive training and practice with the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy model. Linda is an enthusiastic, experienced trainer and provides trainings for professionals, teachers, educators, staff and families working with at-risk adolescents, attachment issues, addictions, couples, families, grief and loss, and self-care. She earned a Master of Arts in Human Developmental Counseling at the University of Illinois, Springfield, Illinois, USA.
Linda is the Director of Programming for the Satir Institute of the Pacific, a member of the SIP dynamic Training Directorate, a past president of the Satir Institute of the Pacific, and a Clinical member of the Satir Institute of the Pacific, and a member of the Satir Institute of the Pacific Training Directorate. She is an approved senior trainer and faculty for the Banmen Satir China Management Center. In addition, Linda is an active member of the Michigan Counselor’s Association. Linda has a part-time private practice, and she is a clinical supervisor for therapists and counselors. Linda has traveled throughout the world conducting Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy experiential, dynamic workshops and programs.
Beng Wee currently resides in Singapore, a tropical garden city. He holds a Master in Social Science (Counselling) from the University of South Australia, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences and a Registered Social Worker through the Singapore Association of Social Workers.
Beng Wee is a Medical Social Worker with 15 years of experience in the Intermediate and Long-Term Care sector, supporting elderly patient/residents and their caregivers in the area of grief and loss, reminiscence, and meaning making. An important part of his education and experience includes professional and personal development with the Satir Centre (Singapore) and Satir Institute of the Pacific (SIP). His training in STST Level 1 and 2 are experiential and transformational. It encompasses many current therapies, as well as, the spiritual or energetic part that we all possess. An integration of body, communication and mind.
Beng Wee felt truly connected with the principles of Satir Model both personally and professionally. He is humbled to be a part of the SIP, continuing to connect with people around the world, and to learn from workshops/conferences related to Satir Model.
Shyann holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She connected with the Satir Institute of the Pacific (SIP) in 2018 when she had the opportunity to participate in the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy-Level 1 Training. Over the course of the past 2 years, Shyann, has continued to develop knowledge, further her training and find creative ways to invite elements of the Satir Model into her sessions when working with students attending Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC and with clients as part of her private practice. She is honoured to serve on the SIP Board of Directors as the Director of Membership.
Songyan Wang (Tina) brings a blend of professional expertise and a passion for community empowerment to her role as both an active member and Board Member at the Satir Institute of the Pacific. With a background in computer science from university and over a decade of experience in corporate settings, she transitioned her career toward nonprofit organizations and educational institutions, where she dedicated herself to supporting diverse populations, including youth, seniors, and immigrants to Canada. Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional endeavors, as she has volunteered with various NGOs and crisis hotlines.
Her journey into the realm of Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy began with participation in Level 1 and 2 courses, along with additional workshops. She applied these learnings in her professional endeavors, self-growth journey, and personal relationships. As a member of the Board, She is committed to nurturing the ethos of the Satir Institute of the Pacific, offering seeds of Satir’s wisdom to people when they seek to cultivate their own gardens of growth and resilience
Michael Callaghan’s experience as a Board member began in 1975 with a variety of small charity and non-profit organizations serving the needs of offenders as part of his work as a Senior Probation Officer in London in the UK. After moving to Canada, he began studying the Satir Model in the early 1990’s and found it very effective during his time as a social worker in a Detox Centre. Later he became responsible for managing government contracts with over 50 non-profit agencies in BC in the field of Addictions, Needle Exchange Programs and HIV/AIDS. He has served as President of the North West Satir Institute, was founding President of the Satir Institute of the Pacific in 1998 and a Board member of AVANTA, now the Virginia Satir Global Network. He sees the role of the SIP Board of Directors to provide a multi-facetted vehicle for bringing people together to experience, learn, teach, provide resources, and develop the Satir Model in BC and beyond.
Cindi has been with Satir Institute of the Pacific as administrator since December of 2006. She takes care of all day to day management of the Institute, including website updates, registration, marketing, and bookkeeping. Cindi has also participated in the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy Training Program Level 1 and uses this model while working with the SIP Board and its members.
