Jim Edwards is a registered social worker and addictions counsellor with over 40 years of experience. He began his career focusing on children and youth in high-risk and crisis situations, particularly those marginalized and alienated while living and working on the streets.

For the past 20 years, Jim has specialized in mental health and addictions, helping people of all ages recover their health while coping with complex trauma and substance and process use disorders. He has been studying, practicing, and sharing the Satir Model for over 14 years.

Jim’s practice is enriched by his diverse life experiences as a father, husband, Sundancer, and person in recovery from his own mental health and addiction issues. He currently attends to his private practice at Vancouver Island Therapy in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
