  • Membership in Satir Institute of the Pacific (SIP) is open to people who are interested in learning more about Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST), its origin in the ideas of Virginia Satir, its contemporary development, and its application in their personal and professional lives.
  • As a member of SIP, you will become part of a worldwide intentional community committed with energy and passion to growth, change and transformation using this model.
  • SIP offers both on-line and in-person training programs, connections with other Satir Institute members locally and internationally, access to resources, and opportunities to be involved in the running of the Institute.

This membership is designed for professionals who:

  • Completed Level 1 and Level 2 Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy or equivalent training from other Satir Institutes and received a certificate of completion.
  • Possess a graduate degree in psychology, counseling, social work, nursing, medicine or a related profession.
  • Involves on a regular basis in the practice, direction, instruction or research in the field of therapy and counseling.
  • Interested in furthering the purposes and objectives of the Institute and who accept Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy as their primary professional therapy model.
  • Belongs to a provincial or national professional organization or association approved by the Board such as:
  • Associations for Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Guidance and Counseling Associations
  • Associations of Clinical Counselors
  • Associations of Social Workers
  • Registered Nurses Association
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association
  • College of Physicians and Surgeons
  • College of Psychologists or similar membership in other geographical jurisdictions

Membership Benefits:

  • Be eligible to submit a proposal to offer SIP sponsored workshops, seminars and training programs for counsellors and therapists, as well as for the public and organizations
  • Clinical members may include in their advertising and marketing their affiliation with SIP
  • Clinical and Professional SIP Member rates for some SIP training programs.  Early Bird rates are available to everyone.
  • Convene Fireside Chat Groups in consultation with the Director of Membership Services
  • Receive early notification of training and other events
  • Access the Library
  • Vote at Annual and other General Meetings
  • Participate on Standing Committees
  • Participate as Board Members

Community membership is open to individuals, organizations or members of the general public who support the Vision and Mission Statements of SIP and who participate in Introductory sessions, Free Community Support Meetings, Workplace workshops, Special Events and Training Programs.
