SUMMARY:Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy Level 1 - Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:September 19 – 21\, 2025\nOctober 23 – 26\, 2025\nNovember 21 – 23\, 2025\n\n10 days of training over 3 months\nwith Jennifer Nagel\, MA\, RCC \nApproved by Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association for 60 CEC/CEU’s*\nSatir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST) Level 1 is an accredited program that offers 60 Continuing Education Credits from Canadian Counselling Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and is also approved by American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) \nThis family therapy program contains 10 days of experiential learning plus participants are expected to complete : \n\nAn additional 12 hours of triad work outside of classroom time to support skill development\nA written assignment due after completing the training to demonstrate understanding and to help integrate the concepts that have been taught\,(to receive a certificate of completion).\n\nSatir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST) Level I training program is for practicing counsellors and therapists\, and for other helping professionals who are presently working with clients. The focus of the program is on learning and practicing Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy to bring about deep and lasting change with individuals\, couples and families. \nThis program is very experiential\, with lecturettes\, small group discussions\, structured exercises\, demonstrations\, and skill practice sessions as part of the training. Participants will be required to work in triads between sessions to practice what they have been learning in the program. \nSatir’s Transformational Systemic Therapy Model (STST) is unique in encompassing both the intrapsychic and interactive components of therapy. Much therapy of the past has been focused only on clients’ behaviour\, cognition or affect. This model is focused on the whole human being\, bringing about transformational change by tapping the internal resources and universal yearnings of individuals within their personal\, family\, and social systems. The process requires that the therapist has a high level of therapeutic competence and congruence. \nSTST processes are supported by recent therapeutic and neurobiological research. Evidence-based research supports\ntherapeutic processes that are experiential\, systemic\, positively directional and change focused in providing neurological changes in clients. The model’s focus on the congruence of the therapist is supported in research supporting how important it is that therapists provide the conditions for attachment\, hope\, positive possibilities and safety in order for clients to achieve deep and lasting change. \nThe experiential processes provided by the training program give participants the opportunity to have both personal and professional growth. The program will provide several therapy demonstrations and skill development opportunities. \nThis Program Will Help Counsellors and Therapists:\n\nlearn to make contact and build rapport with clients to stimulate their healing energy\nunderstand and incorporate the basic therapeutic belief system of the Satir Model\nuse experiential process throughout their therapy sessions\nsurface and identify clients’ communication and coping patterns\nprepare clients’ family of origin maps (genograms) and surface dysfunctional personal and family\ndynamics\nsculpt relationships among family members and bring automatic coping patterns into awareness\ntransform clients’ problems into positively directional goals\nlearn the Satir process of therapeutic change through mindful process questions\nhelp clients access\, accept\, and utilize their internal strengths and resources.\ntransform family rules that diminish clients’ self-esteem\nhelp clients raise their self-esteem and increase their choice-making possibilities\nmap the internal processes of clients and help them access and change their behaviours\, feelings\,\nperceptions and expectations\nhelp clients reduce the impact of past events and negative experiences\nhelp clients integrate and maintain their changes\nbecome more effective counselors / therapists in using the Satir Model\n\nTestimonial…\nAs a final note\, I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude for this course. I entered into it with few expectations or previous knowledge\, as it was a course I needed to fulfill registration requirements so resigned myself to taking it without really knowing what it was about. I have been consistently delighted and appreciative for the content and how applicable it is in my daily life. It provides such a useful framework for exploration of so many topics and aspects of daily living. I can also see how so many different modalities grew out of this approach – although I have not really seen that acknowledged in the literature. Satir was a thinker ahead of her time and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn more about her work and have had the chance to apply it to my own life.\nL Dietrich Level 1 2023 Online \nWe learned the process and the model\, through its own process and model.  No finer proof of its efficacy. The weaving-in throughout\, of the teachings of Satir kept us connected to the source of this genius work. \nProfessionally\, my practice has been both affirmed and at the same time elevated to a whole new level. The approach which has been so elegantly modeled\, has a flexibility which has allowed me to easily and effortlessly intertwine my existing modalities in counselling\, hypnotherapy\, Timeline Therapy\, EFT and NLP. \nI am very grateful that I was able to take the course with you. I didn’t expect to have so many takeaways for my personal growth and development. At the same time\, I also learned professionally and my need for connection was met as well. I really appreciate how engaged\, positive\, organized\, structured\, creative and warm you were for our group. I am looking forward to meeting you again!” \nPAYMENT INFORMATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY\nEarly Bird to July 19\, 2025 – $2450 Canadian Dollars\nAfter July 19\, 2025 – $2700 Canadian Dollars \nSPECIAL NOTE:  If you are from Singapore or any other country that cannot process PayPal or you need an alternate method of payment please contact Cindi at admin@satirpacific.org \nCancellation Policy\nFull Payment due with application\, full refund if not accepted into program. The process requires that the therapist has a high level of therapeutic competence and congruence. \nTHIS PROGRAM WILL HELP COUNSELLORS AND THERAPISTS: \n\nUse experiential process throughout their therapy sessions to access healing Life Energy\nExplore and facilitate change in clients’ intrapsychic and relational systems\nMake contact with clients’ internal experience and create safety quickly and deeply\nSurface clients’ survival communication and coping patterns and help clients experientially choose more positive possibilities\nCollaboratively with the client\, begin to set positively directional\, intrapsychic therapeutic goals for change\nHelp clients access\, accept and utilize their internal strengths and resources in the change process\nMap the internal processes of clients and help them access and change their behaviours\, feelings\, perceptions and expectations\nHelp clients integrate and maintain their changes.\n\nWhat participants have said…\nAs a final note\, I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude for this course. I am looking forward to meeting you again!” \n\nPAYMENT INFORMATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY\n\n$ 2375 Canadian Dollars \nFull Payment due with application\, full refund if not accepted into program.
